General Information & Brand Impact
Transparent business cards offer a more modern, eye-catching look than traditional paper cards. They help you stand out from the first handshake and leave a more memorable impression. Design possibilities like the see-through surface, negative space, and layering effects also open the door to more original work.
A business card is a physical communication tool that represents you and your brand in face-to-face moments. First impressions are often shaped by small details. A weak or sloppy-looking card can work against you, while a well-designed one clearly reflects the care you put into your work and your professional presence.
Yes. Even though digital channels are everywhere now, the business card is still a powerful communication tool in the business world. It lets you share your details quickly, represents your brand professionally, and makes it easier to be remembered after a meeting.
Material & Durability
Detailed guide →Our transparent cards are typically made from high-quality PVC with a thickness of 500 microns. This construction is flexible, durable, and water-resistant. Depending on the design, you can choose a fully transparent or frosted transparent finish.
Plastic business cards last far longer than paper ones. They're more resistant to water, tearing, and creasing, and they keep their shape in a wallet or pocket over time. The difference really shows in humid conditions and with everyday use.
Because a protective lacquer is applied to the surface after printing, our cards hold up well against everyday scratches. As with any custom-printed product, though, it's best to avoid unnecessary rubbing.
Fully transparent business cards are completely see-through and show the background clearly. Frosted transparent cards have a semi-translucent surface; they blur the background slightly and offer a more matte appearance. For gold and silver foil cards, a semi-frosted transparent PVC is usually preferred.
Yes. Transparent business cards with embossed lacquer are water-resistant. The PVC or PET-based material isn't affected by moisture, and the embossed lacquer adds extra protection to printed areas. They can be wiped clean when needed.
Yes. Because of the materials used and the specialized production process, transparent business cards cost more than standard paper cards. In return, their greater durability and longer lifespan can make them worthwhile over the long run.
No. We don't print transparent business cards on both sides. When both faces are printed on a clear surface, the front and back designs can overlap and hurt readability. That's why these cards are produced as single-sided prints.
Design Process
Design guide →For the best results, we prefer print-ready files such as AI, PDF, CDR, and layered PSD. It's important that text is converted to outlines and that images are either embedded in the file or sent separately. This prevents any loss of quality during printing.
Yes. The designs you upload are reviewed against basic technical criteria before printing. If we spot an issue with resolution, bleed, safe area, font size, or file structure, we'll let you know. We can also help with the edits if needed.
If there's a design example you like, just send us the image. Our team can create a similar design tailored to your transparent card at no charge. It's a practical option for customers who don't already have a finished design.
With our online editor, you can pick one of the ready-made templates or start a design from scratch. You can add text, a logo, and images, and easily adjust the layout and colors. You don't need to know a professional design program to use it.
Yes. We offer professional graphic design support for your business card. Our team can help you create clean, effective work that fits your brand identity. We can refine your existing design or build a new one from scratch.
For the best print result, we recommend using a vector logo. Files like AI, EPS, SVG, and vector PDF don't lose quality even when scaled. Pixel-based images, on the other hand, can look blurry in print if they aren't high enough resolution.
A few technical details matter when designing a transparent card. Because the background is transparent, white ink can be used in the relevant areas if you want text or images to stand out more clearly. If you want a more see-through effect, that layer can be left out. You should also leave a 3 mm bleed and keep important elements at least 6 mm in from the edges. For readability, we recommend avoiding text smaller than 6–7 points.
White ink printing is an underlayer that makes colors on transparent material look more vivid, sharp, and opaque. It's often used for logos, text, icons, and QR codes, where readability is critical. If you want a more transparent look, it can be left out.
No. There can be slight tonal differences between the color you see on screen and the printed result. This comes down to screen light, the printing system, and the nature of the transparent material. Colors can look lighter and more transparent, especially in areas where white ink isn't used.
For clean cutting and crisp printing, you should leave a 3 mm bleed around the design. Text, logos, and other important elements should sit at least 5–6 mm in from the finished card edge. This area creates a safe zone against small cutting shifts.
For readability, we recommend a minimum of 7 points. For prominent details like your name and title, 9–13 points works well, while 7–9 points is usually right for contact information. It's also helpful to avoid very thin or overly complex fonts.
On a business card, what matters isn't how many images you use but where you place the content. Too many graphics and images can clutter the design and hurt readability. A cleaner, more balanced, purposeful layout usually delivers a stronger result.
Yes—especially in industries where digital visibility matters, social media details can have a place on your card. In design, consulting, digital marketing, and creative work, this information can make you more accessible.
Yes, a QR code can be added. For the most reliable scanning, we recommend placing the QR code on a white background and leaving enough clear space around it.
You can generate a QR code with various online tools or apps. You can link to a website, contact details, a social media profile, or a digital business card. For the best print result, we recommend a high-resolution code—ideally in vector format—positioned on a white background within the design.
Special Print Techniques
Foil printing adds a metallic accent using gold or silver foil. Spot lacquer, on the other hand, gives certain areas a glossy surface effect. With embossed lacquer, that effect is felt both visually and to the touch.
Gold foil is a printing technique applied using special metallic gold foil. Used on logos, text, or specific graphic areas, it delivers a glossy, prestigious look.
Gold foil transparent business cards usually use semi-frosted transparent PVC with a thickness of 500 microns. This surface helps the foil stand out more clearly.
Gold foil printing costs more than standard printing because it requires special foil, die preparation, and extra production steps. The price varies based on quantity, the size of the area being covered, and the level of design detail.
Yes. Gold foil can be applied to multiple areas, such as the logo, name, title, or decorative details. For a cleaner, more effective result, though, it's better to use the foil as an accent and keep it controlled.
To keep the foil crisp, you should avoid very small application areas. As a general rule, a minimum of around 5–8 mm is recommended, though the right size depends on the level of detail in the logo.
Gold foil is generally used on the logo, name, title, or graphic details you want to highlight. Rather than spreading it across the whole card, it works more effectively as an accent in specific areas.
The most reliable approach is to mark the foil areas on a separate layer or with a separate spot color in your design file. If you're not sure about the technical setup, you can also point out the areas on a sample.
We recommend storing your cards away from direct sunlight, in a dry, cool place. It also helps to keep them from constantly rubbing against coins, keys, or other hard surfaces when carried in a wallet.
Silver foil is a printing technique applied with special metallic silver foil. On a transparent surface, it creates a modern, glossy, clean look.
No. We don't print silver foil transparent business cards on both sides either. Printing two faces on a transparent surface can cause the designs to overlap and reduce readability.
Silver foil combines the modern feel of the transparent material with a metallic shine. It creates a strong accent, especially in clean, contemporary designs.
Thanks to the PVC material, silver foil transparent business cards are far more durable than paper cards. They're more resistant to moisture, wear, and everyday use.
Using silver foil on focal areas like the logo, name, title, or linear details gives better results. Very fine lines and overly complex patterns can hurt print quality.
The logo, a person's or company's name, title, website, and select graphic details are the best fits for silver foil. Using it on very small text or long blocks of text can make them harder to read.
Yes. We can adapt your existing design for silver foil printing or create a new design specifically for it.
Embossed lacquer is a glossy, transparent layer applied to designated areas that you can feel to the touch. It highlights logos, names, or special graphic areas both visually and tactilely.
Spot lacquer adds gloss to the surface but doesn't create a raised feel. Embossed lacquer, in addition to its glossy look, also creates a slight raised effect that you can feel to the touch.
Because it offers a more refined, premium look, embossed lacquer suits many industries. It's a popular choice in fashion, beauty, design, photography, technology, consulting, and creative work.
Yes. Embossed lacquer can be combined with other special print applications like gold or silver foil. This lets you achieve more layered, eye-catching results.
As with foil, you can mark the embossed lacquer areas on a separate layer or with a spot color. It's used most often on logos, names, titles, and specific graphic details.
Embossed lacquer also requires a special production step, so it adds cost compared to standard printing. The price depends on quantity, the application area, and the level of design detail. In most cases, it can be similar to foil printing or slightly less expensive.
The most effective ways to highlight a specific area are special print applications like gold foil, silver foil, and embossed lacquer. Your logo, name, or any graphic elements you want to emphasize become much stronger with these techniques.
Sizes & Formats
Size comparison guide →Our standard production sizes are: European 85x55 mm, American 89x51 mm, Square 65x65 mm, and Mini 85x40 mm.
The American business card size is 89x51 mm, while the European size is 85x55 mm. The American format looks slightly longer and narrower. The choice usually comes down to the design language and the target market.
Thanks to its different proportions, the American format offers a more distinctive look, especially for horizontal designs. Because it differs slightly from the classic sizes, it can come across as more eye-catching. It's widely used in the North American market.
The standard American business card size is 89x51 mm. That corresponds to roughly 3.5 x 2 inches.
Yes. The American format is widely recognized among international sizes and poses no issue for use in Europe.
The standard European business card size is 85x55 mm. Since it's close to credit card dimensions, it's practical to use.
The 85x55 mm size generally fits more easily into the standard slots in wallets and cardholders. It's easy to carry and is one of the most widely used formats in Europe and Asia.
Our standard square business card size is 65x65 mm. This format offers a more modern, eye-catching alternative.
Because they break from the classic rectangular shape, square business cards get noticed at first glance. They're a good option for brands that want a more creative, original presentation.
At 65x65 mm, square business cards may not always fit perfectly into standard credit card slots. Even so, they can be carried comfortably in a wallet's other compartments or in a bag.
Our standard mini business card size is 85x40 mm. This format is shorter and more compact than the classic European size.
Mini business cards get noticed for their small, distinctive shape. They're well suited to minimal designs, easy to carry, and offer a modern look.
We don't currently offer fully custom-shaped cutting. Our production is limited to the standard European, American, Square, and Mini formats. However, the corners are cut with a standard rounded finish in all formats.
Yes. In all our transparent business card formats, the corners are cut with a standard rounded finish. This gives both a more modern look and a more comfortable feel in use.
Innovative Applications
Thanks to their durable construction and transparent surface, plastic business cards can be used creatively across different industries. For example, they can be designed as semi-transparent application cards in the beauty sector, mini drink or recipe cards in restaurants, or workout reminders for fitness trainers.
Smart plastic business cards combine the physical card with digital content. By scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC chip, the other person can be taken straight to your website, digital business card, or social media accounts. For now, we can add QR codes to the cards.
We don't offer custom single-card sample prints. That's because producing a single card requires the same print preparation steps as a bulk run. However, if you'd like to see our material and print quality, you can request a sample set made up of previously produced examples.
The rush paper business card service gives you a fast paper card to use temporarily while your transparent cards are being prepared. Because special print techniques can take longer to produce, we can prepare these faster-turnaround temporary cards for an additional fee when you have an urgent need.
Ordering & Delivery
Order process guide →The minimum order quantity is 250 cards per person. If an order includes more than one person, the minimum quantity is counted separately for each person.
No. We don't offer a proof print service. That's because producing a single test card requires the same print preparation steps as a high-volume run.
For standard-printed transparent cards, production and delivery take around 9–11 business days for most orders. With express shipping options, this can drop to as little as 5–6 business days. For special applications like gold foil, silver foil, or embossed lacquer, the timeline can be longer.
Because gold and silver foil applications require extra processing, they take longer than standard printing. Depending on the production speed you choose, delivery generally ranges from 6–8, 10–12, or 12–14 business days.
Embossed lacquer also requires a separate production stage. For that reason, depending on the production speed you choose, delivery is generally within 6–8, 10–12, or 13–15 business days.
The delivery time for square business cards is close to that of the standard formats. Depending on print density, special effects, and the shipping method you choose, they're generally delivered within 5–11 business days.
We ship to select countries, with Turkey being our primary market. For international shipping requests, you can contact us directly for information on timing, cost, and availability.
Yes. In the same order, you can have multiple business card designs prepared for different people or departments. However, the minimum order quantity is 250 cards for each person or each different name.
Some changes can be made before the order goes into production. Once production begins, however, it may not be possible to alter the design. For that reason, we recommend carefully reviewing all details before printing.
Yes. You can reorder a previously prepared design and, if you wish, use it exactly as is or update details like the name, title, phone, and email.
If you believe there's a production error in your order or that the product arrived damaged, contact us shortly after delivery. We may ask you for a photo to review. Depending on the situation, we'll arrange a reprint or another suitable solution.
Yes. You can order mini business cards online just like our other formats. You can upload your design, use the online editor, or take advantage of our design support.
